Good Translation Guide Wiki.

Say you want to read a classic in translation. Some have been translated dozens of times. Sometimes there are five or six versions in print, with many more available from second hand book dealers on the internet. How do you choose?

The Good Translation Guide aims to help. We are a wiki dedicated to the critical comparison of translations, with click-throughs to Gutenberg or other digital texts and to online retailers and second hand book shops. We also gather and link articles and quotations on the aesthetic issues surrounding translation.

Now Explore the WIKI and please add useful material to it. The Good Translation Guide is a non-profit making Firework project. For this project, Firework is Roc Sandford and Michael Sandford. All reviews are © Good Translation Guide, 2007 using Wikipedia's model of free use providing the source is cited. Adding a hyperlink is adequate citation.

Please consult the User's Guide for information on using the wiki software.

And for examples, look at a simple entry on Heinrich von Kleist and an elaborate one on Pushkin's Eugene Onegin.
